Miranda Kerr, the Victoria Secret supermodel, married Evan Spiegal, who is the founder of Snapchat on May 27th 2017. They kept the marriage a close thing. According to reports, only 45 family and friends were invited. No further details of the wedding or its photographs were released.
However, a couple of months later, all the intimate details came out, and the pictures we got to see were really amazing. The couple shared the details of their garden wedding with US Vogue. It was a rustic themed marriage at California Hills, and Miranda was seen wearing an absolutely gorgeous wedding dress.
See how good the two of them look in this picture. Miranda’s bridal gown was made by Dior haute couture, and it was designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri, who is the new artistic director of the fashion house. The dress featured a dreamy and structured buttered colored satin skirt, full-length sleeves, a high neck, and was finished with appliqué of lilies.
Gown Inspired by Grace Kelly
Maria Grazia has revealed that the gown Miranda was seen wearing has been inspired by what the iconic Hollywood actress Grace Kelly wore at her 1956 wedding to Prince Rainier of Monaco. Grace looked really pretty and graceful in this dress, and so did Miranda Kerr in her wedding gown.
Chiuri said Miranda “wanted something like a fairy tale”. She asked for a dress that would be simple and emotional at the same time, and one that fully covers, while creating a sense of mystery and purity.
Miranda was herself very happy with the gown when she first saw it.
This is what she said to Vogue, “I’ve had a lot of fun with fashion, and I used to be more wild, free, and bohemian. But in this period of my life, my style is more pulled back… my greatest sources of inspiration have always been Grace, Audrey Hepburn, and my grandmother, who at 80 has an effortless chic style: a nice pant, a white blouse, a scarf and a little heel”.
Maria Grazia Chiuri, the designer was proud as well of her creation, the bridal gown. She said, “Honestly, I couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful wedding dress”.
The Classics Are Back
Vintage styles and classic cuts are now a huge trend in the bridal industry, featuring key elements like long sleeves, high necks and full skirts, similar to the dreamy bridal gown of Miranda. There have been many high-profile weddings in recent times – the Duchess of Cambridge, Pippa Middleton, Kate, and because of them, the sale of vintage and elegant bridal gowns have soared. This trend is likely to continue into 2018.
